“You don’t learn to write through reading anymore than you learn carpentry by sitting on a chair. You learn to write by writing.”
Chuck Wendig, author, comic book writer, screenwriter, and blogger
Of course reading helps us become better writers, if we learn to read as writers. But what makes us writers is actually writing.
This is a blog about all the different aspects of writing. One week it may cover how to research your topic, another week, it might explain how to use social media to promote what you have written, and still another could explore in depth some detail that you wrote about in a book. It is intended for writers, aspiring writers, and people who just like to read.
To give you an idea, I’ll be starting with a blog about publishing options. Serious stuff. But I just finished writing a novel about the Aztecs, and I once saw a crystal skull in a museum that was believed to be Aztec. You can expect a blog on the skull and the art of crystal scrying, along with updates from the British Museum in the near future.
I will be inviting other published authors to do guest blogs on the writing process once a month. My guests will include novelists, poets, scholars, bloggers, reporters, and more. Writing may be a solitary business, but there is no question that we learn from each other. If you are interested in being one of my guests, email me at Wendy@WendyLozano.com.
How’s that for bananas?
